Retired heavyweight boxing champion Frank Bruno is reportedly said to swap his boxing gloves for scissors as he is learning a new trade.

Bruno reportedly revealed via Twitter that he is headed in a new direction as he begins training to become a hairdresser and asked followers for a 'salons name'.

Bruno, who hung up his boxing gloves in 1996, is all set to come out of his retirement as he trains to swap upper cuts for haircuts and smashing blows for blow-driers, the report added.

According to the Daily Star, the inspiration behind Bruno's change of trade is said to be his current girlfriend Nina Coletta, a salon owner in Glasgow.

Bruno met Coletta during his Glasgow stay, where he received treatment for his mental illness, and is now speculated to follow in his girlfriend's 'tress-dressing' footsteps, the report added.

Bruno reportedly revealed that his girlfriend has helped him more than she could 'ever realize' and this year she has helped him 'get out of the tunnel' and 'back on his feet'.
