A latest review is set to reveal that BBC was aware that Jimmy Savile had raped and sexually assaulted up to 1,000 girls and boys and they turned a blind eye to it.

Lawyer Janet Smith's report says that that the true number of victims of Savile's sexual proclivities may remain unknown, but his behavior was recognized by the network' executives who took no action against it, the Guardian reported.

Peter Saunders, chief executive of the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (Napac), said that many people connected to the BBC, whom he spoke to had said that they knew about Savile's behavior.

Sources have revealed that the report will overshadow Pollard inquiry and will focus on how Savile was able to get away with the most heinous of crimes for more than 40 years.
