Lewis Hamilton's hopes of regaining the world championship lead went up in smoke as Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo emerged as the quickest driver at a dramatic, action-packed Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday.
The Briton was leading the race with 15 laps to go when a spectacular engine failure forced him to retire in Sepang.
As a result, Ricciardo clinched his first victory of the season ahead of team-mate Max Verstappen. The victory also saw Red Bull's first one-two finish since the 2013 Brazilian Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, F1 leader Nico Rosberg bounced back from a first-bend spin involving Sebastian Vettel and a 10-second penalty to finish at third place.
With the finish, Rosberg has also extended the gap over Hamilton from eight to 23 points in the driver standings with just five races remaining.
