Wealthy Chinese adults have started a trend for drinking breast milk.
Xinxinyu Household Service Company in Shenzen, southern China, has started providing services of wet nurses - or adult nannies - to the sick and wealthy citizens who believe that the breast milk has high nutritional value, the Sun reported.
Lin Jun, manager of the home help agency, said that his clientele features tired company directors and rich couples from Hong Kong.
He told a local newspaper that adults are breastfed, or if they feel embarrassed they drink it from a breast pump.
Jun said that breast milk is the best tonic, especially for people who have undergone major surgery.
Young lactating mums from impoverished areas are being hired by wealthy families for 6 - 8 months; and are earning up to 1,700-pounds-a-month for their services.
