Liverpool football team manager Brendan Rodgers has branded his side's 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion as a big win after their faltering start to the Premier League season.
Midfielders Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson scored a goal each to secure a first Premier League win for Liverpool since late August. Prior to victory over West Brom, last year's Premier League runners-up had won just two of six league games.
Rodgers said that it was satisfying, adding that they had to show character and the resilience of the players was fantastic, The BBC reported.
The Northern Irishman also praised the Anfield crowd for giving his team a lift after the visitors equalised through a controversial West Brom striker Saido Berahino penalty.
Rodgers also predicted his team's form would improve, with Daniel Sturridge, Joe Allen and Emre Can expected to return from injury following the upcoming two-week international break.
Although it was not Liverpool's top quality performance, yet Rodgers said that the three points were all that mattered. He said that as they work more together the quality of their game would improve and the performance would improve, but added that one has to find a way to win and his side did that.

Rodgers said that West Brom keep clean sheets, they are difficult to beat and Liverpool found a way to break through that resistance and win. He said that it was vital for them before the international break.
Liverpool's next match will be against bottom-of-the-table QPR on 19 October, the report added.
