Idris Elba has said that he would absolutely play the role of James Bond after Roger Moore said that Elba is not "English enough" to play the spy.
The 87-year-old actor, who played Bond in seven films, roping Elba for playing Bond, was an interesting idea but "unrealistic", the Daily Star reported.
Moore said that although Bond may have been played by a Scot, a Welshman and an Irishman, but according to him, he should be 'English- English'.
Daniel Craig has appeared in three Bond films even he nominated Elba to succeed him in the role.
Moore, who has not lived in Britain since 1978, denied his remarks were racist, blaming the French magazine which quoted him for getting his words "lost in translation".
