Rosa Salazar has landed a major female role in 'Maze Runner
The project, which would see actor Dylan O'Brien reprise his as lead in the Fox's YA adaptation of 'Scorch Trials,' would be helmed the first film's director Wes Ball with Temple Hill Entertainment and the Gotham Group returning a producers, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
The first movie, which performed well at the box office, focused on a group of young men who try to escape through a deadly maze, and only had one female lead, played by Kaya Scoledario.
Salazar would play the role of Brenda, a character who runs around with another group of teens, and is the sole female in the group. Her character is paired with that of O'Brien's when both end up on the run in tunnels underneath a city.
