Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has reportedly launched a scathing attack on the club saying that their vice-chairman Ed Woodward needs to look at himself over the Premier League side's failure to secure quality signings last summer.

The former Untied skipper said that Woodward needs to look at himself, as the vice-chairman has got to get deals done.

Keane said that he feels that the sacked United boss David Moyes, who had one transfer window, should have been given more time by the club, adding that he had been happy with the Scot's appointment.

According to the Guardian, Keane also said that Netherlands boss Luis van Gaal would be a good choice for the post of United's manager, as he has managed big clubs, but only time would tell that.

Meanwhile, Keane, who is currently the assistant manager of the Ireland national team, said that United's defender Phil Jones and centre back Chris Smalling have both gone backwards over the past years, adding that the two need to do a lot better if they want to cement their place at the club and for the club to win trophies.
