Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) BS Sandhu said on Wednesday that 29 police stations and other police infrastructure are being built by the Haryana Police Housing Corporation at a cost of Rs 114.34 crore at different locations and police lines across the state.
In a statement, the DGP said that the construction of these police stations would help in extending better working environment along with infrastructure facilities to the police personnel that would further help them in discharging their official duty in a better way.
"The construction of these police stations including three of women would encourage the police to deliver better, besides benefiting the general public," he said.
"While the construction work of police stations is being undertaken at a cost of Rs 62.52 crore, other infrastructure including hostels and barracks are being built by the corporation with Rs 51.82 crore," he added.
Divulging the details about police stations, Sandhu said that the construction work of Women Police Stations at Bhiwani, Dadri and Palwal are under process. Apart from this, the work of other police stations including City Police Station Palwal, CIA Police Station Palwal and Bhiwani, Police Station Barara, Ambala, Sector 65, Gurugram, Pataudi, Jhajjar, City Narwana, Civil Lines Sector 7 Jind, Pinangwan in Nuh, first floor of Sector 20 and additional floor of Sector 5, Panchkula, are under progress at different levels.
Similarly, tenders of Police Stations Bhupani (Faridabad), Surajkund, Old city Fatehabad, Rohari (Rewari), Sector-27, Sushant Lok (Gurugram) DLF Phase-III, Gurugram, Ellenabad and Civil Lines, Sector-19, Sirsa are under process and construction work of these police stations is expected to begin soon. He said that similarly, hostels or barracks were being built at different Police Lines including Jind, Rewari and Police Complex Madhuban.
DGP further said that the upgradation of police infrastructure would also help in ensuring safety and security with the active cooperation of the general public. "The state police have emerged as one of the best police force in the country," he added.
