There was ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Monday as National Panthers Party MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia was marshalled out of the House after he disrupted proceedings on the issue of ceasefire violations from across the border.

Mankotia highlighted the difficulties faced by the people living in border areas because of the continuous ceasefire violations.

"The legislators of Panthers Party are staging a protest demonstration outside the assembly to bring to notice the difficulties faced by the people living in border areas because of the continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan," Mankotia told ANI here.

"There is chaos on the Indian side of the border because of the continuous firing by the Pakistani side. People do not have anything to eat, they are sleeping on the roads and in schools. Neither the Centre nor the state government has made any arrangements for the people," he added.

Mankotia further said the Panthers Party will disrupt the proceedings of the assembly till the Jammu and Kashmir government does not make its stand clear on the issue.

Extending ceasefire violations to Samba district, the Pakistani troops heavily shelled and fired upon 40 Border Out Posts (BoPs) and 24 villages along the International Border in Jammu and Samba districts, leaving three persons injured.

According to reports, there have been 33 ceasefire violations since July 16.
