Two Union Ministers- Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Babul Supriyo -- took part in the inauguration of a DigiDhan Mela organised at the Kshudiram English Medium school here on Tuesday.
The Tripura Information Technology department in partnership with the Central government is organizing the DigiDhan Mela aimed at popularizing cashless transactions.
During the day long mela people from various walks of life visited various stalls opened to make aware people about digital and cashless transactions.
Three separate competitions- poster, slogan and audio jingle were organized to encourage people to use digital mode of transaction.
Union Minister of State for Skill Development (independent charge) Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special vision for development of the northeastern region.
He said that the Centre has sanctioned Rs 54 crores for unemployed youths of Tripura so that they undergo skill development training.

Rudy added that such DigiDhan Mela would be held in all states to incentivize cashless or less-cash transaction.
Meantime, the Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo said that there was lot of scope for development work in northeast and the NDA government's and Prime Minister Modi's priority is development.
Principal Secretary of Tripura, Information Technology (IT) and Skill Development M Nagaraju was also present in the programme.
