Nothing could be better than running when it comes to have a healthy body, but Bhopalites have taken up running to make their city clean and green.
In a bid to spread awareness on cleanliness, more than 15,000 participants took part in an annual marathon run in India's central city of Bhopal on Sunday.
Even the low visibility and chilling winter couldn't fade away the enthusiasm of the participants as they geared up for the second edition of the 'Run Bhopal Run' despite intense fog.
People from all walks of life and different age groups participated in the event that aimed at advocating clean and green Bhopal and saving the community from industrial hazards.
"This type of marathon helps in improving the lives of the people. Running helps in people having a healthier body. This run is being organized to make Bhopal a clean and green city. It is being done to make Bhopal a smart and global city," said Bhopal city mayor Alok Sharma.
"We are enjoying the marathon a lot. It is such a good weather and it is very healthy. It is a very well organized," said Srishti Balwada, a participant.
There marathon was conducted in three categories i.e., children's race for five Kilometers, Quarter Marathon of 11 kilometers, and Half Marathon run of 21 kilometers.
