All rounder Andre Russell and spinner Piyush Chawla helped the Kolkata Knight Riders register their seventh win of the IPL season, beating the bottom ranked team Kings XI Punjab by one wicket at the Eden Gardens.
Russell was named Man of the Match as he scored 51 off just 21 deliveries to put his side in a winning position.
Electing to bat first, KXIP had a good start as the opening pair of Murali Vijay and Manan Vohra added 45 runs for the first wicket before the latter succumbed to Sunil Narine's delivery.
Vohra continued hitting the ball sweetly before giving Narine a straight forward catch.
However, Wriddiman Saha and Glenn Maxwell added 65 runs for the third wicket in just 5.4 overs.
Maxwell smacked Brad Hogg and Piyush Chawla's deliveries to all corners of the ground. David Millers too smacked a few blows in the final over helping KXIP to set a stiff target of 184.
