West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell's swashbuckling knock of 64 runs anchored his side to secure a one-wicket win over South Africa in the fourth one day international at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth.

Losing the toss and batting first, South Africa posted a decent total of 262, thanks to David Miller's splendid knock of 130 runs.

Chasing the target, West Indies kept on losing wickets at regular intervals before Marlon Samuels (68) and Darren Sammy (51) steadied the ship as they posted a robust 93-runs sixth wicket partnership.

Following the collapse of Samuels and Sammy, West Indies appeared to be on course to another one-day loss as they were reduced to 239 for the loss of nine wickets.

However, Russell's swift half ton came at a crucial juncture as he guided his side to the victory target with nine balls to spare to grab the first victory of the ODI series, Sport24 reported.

South Africa leads 3-1 in the five match ODI series against the West Indies.
