Two of the four Russian female sprinters, who exchanged quick kisses after winning a relay race at the World Championships in Moscow, have shrugged off speculation that it was done deliberately to protest Russia's new controversial law against gays.
According to stuff.co.nz, Kseniya Ryzhova, one of the winners, expressed that the storm of emotions going through them was incredible and they accidentally congratulated each other by touching lips, adding that the fuss was a sick fantasy grounded in nothing.
Russian women often kiss one another on the cheek when celebrating a happy occasion or even just in greeting, the report said.
