Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Friday inaugurated new premises for the Karnataka Bank's regional office in Pusa Road, New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Gowda, who hails from Karnataka, said the bank now shifted to more spacious office, which shows its rapid progress.
"We are fully aware of the fact that banks can grow when bank employees, staff and management give good services and develop customer-friendly relationship. I believe that Karnataka Bank is one such premier institution which caters to the need of the people across the country," he said.
"So I pray to God that let Karnataka Bank grow more and more, let it give more and more services to the people of this country, let it bring close association with the people of the country so that the country can grow through services of Karnataka Bank," he added.
He said that one of the aims of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to bring financial inclusion, and for initiatives like the 'Jan Dhan Yojana' and the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme to be successful, banks play a major role.
"Prime Minister Modi's initiatives, aiming to create financial inclusion, can only be possible if banks are with us. Karnataka Bank has done this, which makes me proud, happy as well as privileged," he said.
