A chemical analyser who deposed as a witness in a Mumbai Sessions Court in the Salman Khan hit-and-run case of 2002 said that the alcohol content found from the actor's blood was above prescribed levels.

"Prosecution witness 14, the chemical analyst in the case, who tested the blood of Salman Khan, stated that there was 62 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, which proves Salman was drunk," senior lawyer Abha Singh told ANI here.

"The report by the chemical analyst was taken into cognizance by the Session Court's judge, and ruled that it was culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which entails a punishment of ten years," she added.

Meanwhile, the court has adjourned the case till December 15.

The actor is accused of running over people who were sleeping on the pavement near a bakery in the Bandra area of Mumbai on September 28, 2002. One person was killed and four others were injured.
