Defence expert Ajay Sahni on Saturday termed the terrorist attack on an army camp in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir as part of a 'continuous effort' by Pakistan backed militants to destabilize the state.
"These attacks are a part of a continuous effort, we have seen that there have already been two major terrorist attacks this year. From Pakistan's perspective, from ISI's perspective and from terrorist perspective it is necessary to keep the movement alive," Sahni told ANI.
"If they do not keep on engaging in occasional attacks, people will believe that the movement has ended and they will begin to defect, few sympathisers would begin to drift away from the movement," he added.
The Samba incident is the second such terror attack in the state in the past 24 hours.
Six people, including two militants, were killed yesterday when the Rajbagh police station in Kathua district was attacked yesterday.
