Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has blasted out at 'stupid' fans who booed the club's new signing Raheem Sterling on his stunning debut in the friendly tie against Rome in Melbourne.
The Frenchman said that the supporters need to move on and respect the player's decision of signing a hefty 49million pounds deal with City, the Mirror reported.
He also said that Sterling is one of the hottest prospects in world football and, therefore, the fans need to let him play and see how talented he is.
Sterling, who completed his Liverpool departure after signing a prolonged 49million pounds deal last week, had been on the receiving end of abuse from Anfield supporters over his contract dispute with the club.
The English winger had made a perfect start to his City career by scoring an early goal in the match, which Manuel Pellegrini's side won 5-4 on penalties after both teams were level 2-2 at full time.
The 21-year-old was booed by some fans among the humongous crowd before he scored his maiden goal for City.
