Samsung appoints Rajiv Mishra as Media VP

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. on Thursday announced the appointment of Rajiv Mishra as Vice President of Media of the organisation.

In his current role at Samsung, Rajiv will be responsible for overseeing the entire media mandate for the organization across the country.

Rajiv's career spans over 22 years during which he has held several leadership positions. Prior to joining Samsung, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Lok Sabha television. In this role, he led the overall functions of the channel including marketing, sales, distribution, producing, hosting and telecasting a complete array of programmes of general interest on issues relating to democracy, governance, social, economic and constitutional issues as well as citizens' concerns.

He has also worked for leading media organizations like the Hindustan Times, Star TV, TV Asia of USA, BAG Films and Media. He was also the nominated member of various media advisory bodies in various ministries of the Government of India.

He is also the founder and first President of Association of Radio Operators for India (AROI) and the first President of Association of Regional Television Broadcasters of India (ARTBI), the industry representative body of regional Broadcasters of India.

Recently, he has been nominated as the member, expert committee of Information and Broadcasting Ministry to develop papers on copyright issues.
