Barcelona striker Alexis Sanchez has reportedly signed for Arsenal from the Spanish League club on a long-term contract in a deal worth in the region of 35 million-pounds.
Sanchez, who scored 47 goals in 141 appearances for Barca and netted two goals for his national team Chile in the World Cup in Brazil, said that he is happy to be joinging a club which has a great manager, a fantastic squad of players and huge support around the world.
Sanchez also said that he is looking forward to playing in the Premier League and Champions League, The BBC reported.
Liverpool had been keen on recruiting the striker as part of the deal that is likely to take forward Luis Suarez from Anfield to the Nou Camp, but it is now expected to be a straight cash transfer.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said that as many people have witnessed during the World Cup this summer, Sanchez is a 'fantastic' footballer and the club is delighted that the Chilean is joining them.
Wenger said that Sanchez would add power, creativity and much quality to their squad and they are all looking forward to him joining up with Arsenal in a few weeks.
Arsenal is also on course to sign French right-back Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United, the report added.
