Sri Lanka batsman Kumar Sangakkara is expected to retire from international cricket after the first test match against India, tentatively scheduled to be played at Galle starting August 18.
According to reports, Sangakkara has informed the Sri Lanka Cricket board that he will be playing the first two Tests against Pakistan in the upcoming series and the first Test against India would be his last.
As the schedule for the Test match against India is yet to be formally announced, there is a possibility of the Sangakkara's farewell match to be allotted to his home city of Kandy.
The southpaw retired from the T20 format after leading the side to World T20 title in 2014 and earlier this year, announced his retirement from the limited overs cricket after scoring four consecutive hundreds in the World Cup.
