Ace tennis player Sania Mirza, on Sunday, became the world number one in tennis doubles after winning the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Family Circle Cup with Swiss player Martina Hingis.
They beat the Aussie-Croation pair Casey Dellacqua and Darija Jurak 6-0, 6-4 in the match.
Mirza and Hingis survived a stressful semi-final to reach the final. The pair beat Alla Kudryavtseva and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 in a rain-affected semifinal.
Mirza is the first Indian woman to have achieved the number one rank.
