Pakistan's wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed hit a splendid ton to help his side get to within ten runs of New Zealand's mammoth first-innings total of 403.

Pakistan posted 393 by the end of their innings, just 10 runs short of New Zealand's first innings target.

Ahmed played a splendid knock of 112 runs off 195 deliveries, before medium fast bowler Brendon McCullum bowled and caught the wicketkeeper batsman.

Only Azhar Ali and veteran batsman Younis Khan were able to cross the half century mark posting 75 and 72 respectively. Skipper Misbah-ul Haq wasn't able to go big with the bat as he was Ross Taylor for his individual score of 28 off Trent Boult's delivery.

Asad Shafiq looked on his way to a half-century but fell short of six runs as Taylor caught him off Tim Southee's delivery.

New Zealand started their second innings and have already lost their opener Tom Latham's wicket, who managed to score nine runs before being caught by Asad Shafiq off Yasir Shah's delivery.
