Pakistan National Security and Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz has reportedly gone on record to say that the "onus was now on India to resume the stalled dialogue process with Pakistan" post suspending talks with the nation in August last year.

While speaking at the concluding session of 'Ideas Conclave 2015? conference organised by the Jinnah Institute in Islamabad on Wednesday evening, he stressed on Pakistan's commitment to a "meaningful and result-oriented dialogue" aimed at resolving all outstanding issues with India, reported the Dawn.

However, he insisted that the initiative to resume talks with Pakistan should come from India as it was India who called off foreign secretary-level talks last year.

He condemned recent ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary by India and added that these incidents betrayed India's intentions towards Pakistan.

Aziz said that building "peaceful and friendly relations" with all its neighbouring countries, including Afghanistan, was a "cornerstone" of Pakistan's foreign policy.
