A Saudi Arabian 'no woman, no drive' video has gone viral mocking the kingdom's unique ban on female driving.
A video featuring a male performer singing "no woman, no drive," an adaptation of Bob Marley's famous song "no woman, no cry," posted on YouTube was seen by more than 3.5 million people by Monday, News24 reports.
A Saudi artist social activist, Hisham Fageeh, who was introduced as a stand-up comedian by the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival, posted this video as a contribution to the female driving campaign in the kingdom on Saturday.
At least 12 women were arrested and 6 other fined heavily by the kingdom's police for driving cars on Saturday.
They were also forced, along with their male co-drivers, to pledge to obey the kingdom's laws, the report added.
He further sang: "Say I remember when you used to sit, in the family car, but backseat. Ovaries are safe and well, so you can make lots and lots of babies," mocking a claim by a Saudi cleric that driving would hurt women's ovaries and bring "clinical disorder" upon their children.
Saudi women are forced to cover from head to toe and need permission from a male guardian to travel, work and marry.
