The spokesperson for Saudi Arabia's Consultative Council has denied all reports that the members had proposed to remove the ban on female drivers.
According to Gulf News, the spokesperson Mohammad Al Muhanna said that the Council had not made any such decision.
He said that the media had included a lot of misleading details that show that it was "baseless and lack credibility".
An international agency had reported on Friday that the Council had recommended the government to lift its ban on women drivers.
The report said that a council member made the recommendation in a secret, closed session in the past month.
