FICCI in association with Frost and Sullivan today announced the launch event for white papers on (1) Impact and Assessment of Thyroid Disorders on Mother and Child Health
The white papers will be launched in association with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Child and Women Development.
The papers have been endorsed and supported by various clinical associations, namely, Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, National Association for Reproductive and Child Health of India, Indian Thyroid Society, Influenza Foundation of India, Indian Virological Society, Vaccine Advocacy Forum India, Gynaecological Endocrine Society of India and International Medical Sciences Academy.
These white papers tend to touch upon some of the most relevant issues impacting the pregnancy and its outcomes chief amongst them thyroid disorders and influenza.
Commenting on the event Mrs. Shobha Mishra Ghosh, Senior Director, FICCI said "FICCI has always been at the forefront of highlighting the most relevant issues impacting the mother and child health scenario in India. This event intends to provide a forum for initiating a debate on the issues of thyroid disorders and Influenza during pregnancy and its impact on the maternal and child health."
Commenting on the event, Ms. Ankita Kothari, Project Lead, Frost & Sullivan, stated that, "the burden of hypothyroidism and influenza in pregnancy often goes unnoticed and untreated, this is primarily on account of low awareness and absence of a comprehensive guideline to manage these disease conditions during pregnancy."
The papers are planned to be launched on January 22, at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
