For the first time the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI (M)) in Tripura has reacted over the Supreme Court's order on cancelling of appointment of 10,323 teachers in the state dubbing it as "inhuman".
CPIM state secretary Bijon Dhar and Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Pabitra Kar termed the apex court order as inhuman.
In a major blow to the CPIM-led Left Front government in Tripura, the Supreme Court earlier on Wednesday upheld the order of the High Court of Tripura terminating jobs of 10,323 teachers, citing faulty recruitment procedure.
CPI (M) state secretary Bijon Dhar while addressing a gathering of the CPIM in the Vivekananda stadium here said, "The honorable Supreme Court bench has given its verdict on the recruitment of 10,323 teachers during 2010 to 2012 by the Left Front government. These appointments shall be cancelled after 31st December of 2017...........our reaction to the court order is that it is inhuman because people go to the court when they are in problem."
Speaking to ANI, another senior CPI (M) leader Pabitra Kar, also the deputy speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly reiterated, "It is the inhuman attitude of the court for the mankind."
However, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanded resignation of the state Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty on humanitarian ground.

Both parties alleged that the state government was repeatedly warned about the faulty recruitment procedure and its consequence but it did not care about it and played with the emotion and future of the youth for political gain.
The opposition parties also announced that they would begin a statewide protest to demand a probe by the central investigation agency into what they called was the "biggest ever recruitment scam" in the state.
Opposition viewed that if former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala can be jailed in the teachers recruitment scam why Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar be spared in a similar scam.
After holding hearings for two consecutive days, a Supreme Court Bench of Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and Uday Umesh Lalit rejected the Special Leave Petition (SLP) of the Tripura government and upheld the HC order dated May 7, 2014.
The High Court of Tripura had cancelled recruitment of all teachers made from March 2010 in undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate categories. In the brief order, the SC directed the state to complete transparent recruitment procedure as per guidelines of the National Council for Teacher Education by May 31.
The court has also allowed the 10,323 teachers to continue their job till December 31 and has said that they can apply in the fresh recruitment initiative.
Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta, who presided over a division Bench of the High Court of Tripura that passed the May 7 judgment, is now a judge in the Supreme Court.
Describing the SC order as "victory of truth", the TMC and the BJP said that the order would fight the "menace of corruption and nepotism under the Left Front government".
