German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has backed his side to dominate for years to come and said that the World Cup victory has given them the hunger to win more trophies, starting with the Euro 2016 Championship.

Schweinsteiger said that their squad is in the perfect age to ensure that they emulate Spain's recent success by making sure that the World Cup is just the beginning.

The Bayern Munich star said that the German squad is fit, hungry and they have some good players who are 25 years of age and around that age and that would give them absolute hunger, adding that they want to do it again at the next tournament, The Mirror reported.

He said that the important thing is that the young guys in their squad have the experience of this tournament.

Schweinsteiger added that Germany would go to France in 2016 and try to do it again for sure as they have got the experience now from winning the World Cup and that would help them.

The midfielder said that every title is important and he is happy that Germany won this title with the guys, adding that since the tournament was held in Germany in 2006, they have always gone as far as the semifinals, finished third place or reached the final in 2008 but lost.

However, Schweinsteiger added that now they have taken one step more and that is the most important thing for the whole of this squad.

Schweinsteiger further said that he believes Germany is now the number one team in the world.
