Scotland Yard, which is currently investigating a former SAS spy's claims that Princess Diana was assassinated by the elite regiment, is reportedly being pressurized to launch a full-scale investigation into the matter.
The former SAS sniper, called Soldier N, has alleged that the SAS was involved in the 1997car crash that killed the Princess of Wales, her beau Dodi Fayed and their driver Henri Paul.
The lawyer, acting on behalf of Fayed's father Mohamed Al Fayed, urged the police to take some action in the case and use their statutory powers to "seize documents and make arrests," the Daily Express reported.
The advocate, Simon McKay, asserted that there is no doubt that the statement attributed to Soldier N was, in fact, made.
McKay insisted that the necessary legal threshold had been crossed for a proper investigation, which should now be launched, as opposed to the present 'scoping exercise', which is a somewhat ambiguous term for the current action being taken by the Metropolitan Police Service.
