Defending champion Adam Scott said that he really felt, before that week last year, the belief that he was good enough to win the Masters, and maybe that is why he ended up winning the tournament.

Scott, who has been often compared to Greg Norman, said that winning the Masters last year gave him his own identity rather than being known as the man who could be like Norman.

Scott, who is the first Australian to win the Augusta National, said that his coach Brad Malone would say something like he saw in the months leading up to the Augusta National finals that there was no way that Scott would not win, the Independent reported.

Scott said that they did nothing special to win last year's Masters, but his coach's belief made him win the prestigious title last year.

Scott will reportedly defend his crown on his 13th visit to Augusta this year and in his five events this year he has posted three top 10s, including third place last time out at Bay Hill, where he led by seven at the halfway stage.

Scott returns to win again this year at the Augusta National and he said that going back there would be a really nice experience adding that he has got a pretty good recipe to win at the moment, the report added.
