Polling is underway for the second phase of panchayat elections in West Bengal amidst tight security.
The polls are being held in East Midnapur, Hooghly and Burdwan districts in this phase.
Polling, which started at 7 a.m., will end at 5 p.m. 96 lakh 25 thousand electorates are eligible to exercise their franchise in this phase.
Over 30 thousand candidates are in the fray for Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis and Zilla Parishads seats.
