Goa government on Saturday allowed Muslims to hold annual procession during Eid-e-Milad even as prohibitory orders remain in force across the state.
Members of the Muslim community met Chief Minister Pramod Sawant requesting him to allow the procession in view of the imposition of Section 144 of CrPC.
After hearing the delegation, the Chief Minister accepted their request and allowed to hold the procession.
On Thursday, prohibitory orders were imposed across the state as a precautionary measure ahead of the Supreme Court verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case.
