The security forces on Sunday night launched an operation after detecting suspicious movement around the Army camp along the Line of Control in Uri town of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.
No casualties have been reported so far.
Talking to ANI, Commanding Officer 53 Battalion CRPF Vinay Kumar said: "Suspicious movement was detected around the camp of Army Artillery unit in Uri last night following which security personnel opened fire."
The operation is underway. The number of terrorists is still unknown. "I will tell you the exact situation after assessing things on the ground," said the officer.
