Srinagar was on Saturday in lock down mode from a security point of view in anticpation of a concert by renowned conductor Zubin Mehta.
Mehta would conduct a 90-minute 'Ehsaas-e-Kashmir' (Feel of Kashmir) music concert in the 17th century Shalimar Mughal Garden on the banks of the Dal Lake.
"I didn't choose Kashmir, Kashmir chose me. Music is the message of peace, music only brings peace," he told media after receiving the 'Tagore Award for Cultural Harmony' from President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday.
While reviewing the security arrangements for this concert, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, said that important guests are expected to come for the show.
Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has called for a general strike in the region on Saturday, while a little-known militant group has threatened to attack the guests if the concert takes place.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Police have arranged a multi-layered security arrangement to ensure safety of Zubin Mehta, his troupe and the audience.
