At least eight people were killed and another 200 were wounded in the incident, local police and health officials said.
No one has claimed responsibility for the blast as yet.
Kabul has been frequently targeted by the Taliban and other militant groups who want the Afghan government to remain destabilised.

Almost 5,000 civilians have been wounded or killed in the conflict during first six months of 2015, the United Nations has said.
