Veteran Indian batsman Virender Sehwag has returned to his original best by scoring an impressive century to lead the Kings XI Punjab to their first Indian Premier League (IPL) final following a 24-run win over the Chennai Super Kings in the second eliminator at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.

Punjab, which will meet the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL final in Bangalore on Sunday, managed 226 for six in their innings, which was highlighted by a magnificent 122 off 58 balls by Sehwag, including twelve fours and eight sixes.

According to Sport24, Sehwag's innings got the best support cast from David Miller's 38 off 19 balls, while Chennai finished on 202 for seven with a spectacular 87 off 25 balls by Suresh Raina, who hit the second-fastest fifty in the history of IPL cricket.

However, CSK were undone by impressive ground fielding and bowling by the left-arm spinner Akshar Patel and a vital double-strike by Parvinder Awana, the report added.
