The market on Tuesday opened in green, with the Sensex rising up 118.44 points at 35069.36, while the Nifty gained 37.70 points at 10561.70.
With a positive breadth, 370 shares advanced, against a decline of 113 shares, while 15 shares are unchanged.
On the sectors front, automobiles, energy, consumption and metals traded strong, while pharmaceutical space suffered some weakness.
Shares of State Bank of India traded higher by a percent, while Cipla traded down 4 percent after the company posted poor results for the quarter, reported the Moneycontrol.
