World No.1 Serena Williams has said that she cannot wait to get back to court as she prepares to defend her title at the Miami Masters tennis tournament on Thursday.
The American played while suffering back pains in a semi-final loss a month ago in Dubai, going down to Alize Cornet of France, after bypassing the Indian Wells tournament again because of a 13-year-old feud with the organisers.
According to Sport24, the 17-time Major winner said that she cannot wait to get back on court as she will be playing at home and will not have to travel, adding that she is used to the conditions, the wind and the heat and has been awaiting the tournament for quite a while.
Williams also said that her back is not currently a problem thanks to a treatment regime, adding that although she will be glad to get back into the WTA competition, however she is nervous about letting her fans down.
The top seed, ahead of Chinese Li Na and Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, opens play against the winner between former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone and Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan, the report added.
