The five-time grand slam champion required only an hour to thrash Diyas 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the next round of the first grand slam of the year.
On the other hand, in the men's singles, World number three Rafael Nadal eased to the next round with a 6-1, 6-0, 7-5 victory over his Israeli opponent Dudi Sela.
