Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called on for flexible media laws to enable Pakistani channels to be viewed in India.
Talking to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zee TV Subhash Chandra, Sharif called relaxation of laws to facilitate media outlets and reach out to a maximum number of people in India and Pakistan.
According to the Express Tribune, he said that media had the power of bringing the people of India and Pakistan together.
He asserted that media is the most effective tool or shaping peoples' perception, adding that the medium in developing countries should serve constructive purposes.
Chandra appreciated Nawaz for the warm gesture and added that he would play his role in enabling the two countries to achieve peace and stability, the report added.
