Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed to empower the local government of the federal capital in the interest of common citizens after a Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz(PML-N) candidate was elected as first-ever mayor of Islamabad.

The Dawn reported that Sharif while addressing PML-N workers in Bahawalpur said that he has a lot of expectations from newly elected local government officials and hoped they would address the issues of the common people.
