Pakistan continued their dominant run as they thrashed lackluster Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the fourth ODI to clinch the five-match series in Colombo.
Opener Ahmed Shehzad and all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez complemented their bowlers' clinical and disciplined bowling performance by scoring brilliant half-tons to seal the series.
Shehzad, who was adjudged the Man of the Match, and Hafeez anchored most of their innings as the duo scored 95 and 70 respectively.
Captain Azhar Ali gave the initial thrust by smacking a brisk 33 off 28 balls, while Sarfraz Ahmed (17) and Shoaib Malik (29) remained unbeaten to help Pakistan chase down the target in the 41st over.
Earlier, a clinical bowling performance from the Pakistan bowlers, especially the spinners, helped them to restrict Sri Lanka to 256 who had opted to bat first on a dry pitch.
Lahiru Thirimanne (90) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (50) were the top scorers for Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Mohammad Irfan, who took three wickets, was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan.
