Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit took oath as the governor of Kerala here today.
Seventy-five-year-old Dikshit was administered oath of office by Kerala High Court Chief Justice Dr Manjula Chellur.
She succeeds Nikhil Kumar, who resigned to contest the Lok Sabha polls from his home state Bihar.
Dikshit was appointed Governor of Kerala on March 4, within three months of her defeat in the recent Delhi Assembly polls.
During the Assembly elections in December last year, Dikshit suffered a 25,000-vote defeat in the New Delhi assembly constituency at the hands of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal.
