Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Majid Memon on Sunday termed the move by Shiv Sena's Uttar Pradesh unit of offering cash to Hindu families having ten children as ridiculous and asked the media not to give any undue importance to it.
"This is ridiculous which is trying to imbalance the population ratio and I think that such endeavour on the part of certain people deserves only to be ignored and this is not going to have any impact. And I am sure the media also will not unduly blow it," he told ANI here.
According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh unit of Shiv Sena has come up with an idea by offering Rs 21,000 in cash to each Hindu family having 10 or more children as a measure to tackle the growing influence of other communities.
