B2B ecommerce platform Shotang aims to modernize order fulfillment processes in the traditional consumer product distribution chain for retailers, distributors and manufacturers, announces Mi smartphones on its platform.
This will help enable the leading smartphone company to expand its offline presence in the market with Shotang selling directly to thousands of retailers online across multiple cities. This launch also helps thousands of retailers on the Shotang platform to access on-time and better margin inventory of Mi smartphones that they can sell from their physical stores to consumers.
"At Shotang, our aim is to enable millions of small & medium retailers to order and pay online for the entire inventory that they sell from their offline stores. The availability of Mi smartphones has been a much anticipated event by the thousands of retailers on our platform. With our strong technological expertise and wide retailer network on our platform, we seek to provide opportunities for companies like Mi to enhance its offline reach, and build a robust distribution network at the click of a button," said Co-founder and CEO Shotang, Anish Basu Roy.

So far, Shotang has more than 7,000 active retailers transacting every week and lists a product selection of over 110 Brands on its platform. It plans to expand its operations across 10 Indian cities in the coming few months, and hopes to establish a strong presence across four to five top product categories.
