Disgruntled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday urged the top brass of the party not to run away from fixing responsibility for the electoral debacle in Bihar.

"Now that the verdict is out and we're saddened by this humiliating defeat, we should not run away from fixing responsibility," Sinha said in a tweet.

The Patna Sahib MP further revealed that he never wanted to be chief minister of the state, and added that had he been allowed to campaign in the states, the scenario would have been different.

"The media tried to create an impression that I had suggested that results cud've been different IF I WAS CM CANDIDATE. I have never said this.I had no such expectations (of being made CM candidate). Have ONLY said - if I was called for campaigning, things could have been better," Sinha tweeted.

Sinha also said that despite his sincerity, efforts and intentions, this 'Bihari Babu' was kept away from campaigning for the people of Bihar.

"My friends, voters and supporters were let down.I am not a Rajya Sabha MP. I've come through the support of masses and won 2 Lok Sabha elections with record margin. I have a support base!" he added.

Sinha further said that a more enthusiastic participation of his friends, fans, voters and supporters would have certainly helped the BJP to make a difference of at a few seats.

Sinha has been firing guns at the top brass ever since the BJP-led NDA suffered a humiliating 53-178 loss to the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Mahagathbandhan Janata Dal-United-Rashtriya Janata Dal-Congress combined in the Bihar polls.

Earlier he had backed the BJP veterans demand of fixing the responsibility for the defeat, saying that the 'Gang of Four was bang on target'.
