Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that a 'shrewd' Congress keeps jumping from the lap of the National Conference to the People's Democratic Party (PDP), depending on which one is more powerful at the given time.
"Congress is extremely shrewd; it keeps jumping from NC's lap to PDP's and bends towards the more powerful party at the given time," the Prime Minister said, while addressing a rally in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba District.
"When people ask NC or the PDP questions, the same Congress stabs them and presents itself to be good in front of the people," he added.
Prime Minister Modi further promised to work towards the development of Jammu and Kashmir if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in the state.
"I assure you that I will return the love that you have showered on me with interest by developing Kashmir. Youth here need jobs, farms need water, children need good education, and elderly need medical care. Isn't the government responsible for providing all this? So should we not remove the government who cannot provide its people the things they need? he asked.
"Madhya Pradesh used to be a 'bimaru' state, but today the same state under Shivraj Singh Chouhan made efforts to get water to farms. No government can work on discrimination, there can't be discrimination on the basis of areas or society as everyone has equal rights," he added.
