The 25-year-old, who is making a comeback after an injury layoff, claimed a 21-16, 21-9 win over Thailand's Busanan Ongbumrungphan in the second round contest that lasted just 41 minutes.
Meanwhile, Sameer Verma failed to capitalise on a good start as the youngster went on to lose 10-21, 21-12, 21-19 against eighth seed Tian Houwei of China in the men's singles event.
